How can I get a girlfriend? No one likes me. - Lonely Dear Lonely,
There are many ways I could answer this question, most of them being very sarcastic/sassy. Here are some of them!
The most important advice I can give for this situation is: Be patient. Someone will come along eventually. I know you don’t want to hear that, (I can’t imagine anyone does,) but if you actually are correct in the fact that, at least currently, “no one likes me,” then this is definitely your best bet. If that advice doesn’t sit well, then I guess you can try to speed up the process of getting a girlfriend. Mainly, ask someone out or meet some new people. Do something you enjoy to see who has similar interests. Flirt, but be respectful. If that doesn’t work, I still stand by my original statement: Be patient. Stay tuned! Kiki

I’m a sophomore and I wanted to know what classes I shouldn’t miss out on for next year. I want to set myself up for a good senior year and don’t want to be behind. A personal example might help. Thx! - Some Guy Dear Some Guy,
This is a difficult question to answer because it all depends on your situation specifically. For example, what college do you want to go to, if any? What career do you want to go into? What classes have you already taken? However, I will try my best. First of all, I would recommend making a resume or brag sheet that keeps track of any notable accomplishments or any activity that makes you look good. This includes jobs, sports, extracurriculars, service projects, and anything that you’ve done to impress anyone. Also, keep track of the dates and years you did these things just for insurance to prove that you did it. This will make your senior year much less stressful. Secondly, if you’re looking for specific classes, I would recommend taking the Career Seminar class, which will help you plan for the future. I would also recommend taking a math class all four years, especially if you want to go to college or get a career involved in STEM. I know, math is hard, and since it’s optional, I can see why you wouldn’t want to do it. But as much as people hate to admit it, math is useful. Even if you don’t need to find the radius of a circle in your daily job, it can still strengthen your brain. Both of these classes can help you feel more prepared in your senior year. Another thing I would do is try to be involved in many extra-curricular activities as possible. I’m not saying you should do things you don’t enjoy, and I’m definitely not saying you should do everything, but extra-curriculars can help you find out more about what you are interested in. It’s also a good way to meet new people and make friends. Also, I hate to be cliche, but you don’t know if you like it until you’ve tried it, right? Lastly, you must remember that I am also a student. I don’t have much more experience in this area than you do, which is why above all, I would recommend talking to Mrs. Levingston about planning for the future. Stay tuned, Kiki |
