more props and items used for each scene, five being on stage, two being off to the side. Eight backdrops were painted for scenes including the library, the train, the town, and rooms for a house. Chairs for the train scene were built and painted and the tables used for Newsies! last year were shortened and re-painted. Two side stages were built for home scenes and everything is finally coming together.
A stage curtain (a curtain with a scene printed on it used as an easier means to create backdrop) has been ordered for the street scenes. This will come around the same time the costumes will arrive. 72 costumes, including 41 hats have been ordered and are expected to arrive Friday. The next week is tech week. The kids have been practicing non-stop, reviewing their four major dance numbers over and over, perfecting them with help from their choreographer, Nicole, a student from ISU. Their lines have been memorized, all this is required now is blocking. They are certainly planning a great show and we wish them the best! Go support them! They will be performing Friday, March 6 at 7:00 PM, Saturday, March 7 at 7:00 PM, and Sunday, March 8 at 2:00 PM.
