Writer/Photographer - Lily Monigold This afternoon, Le Roy headed out to the football field to give their support to the Le Roy football players. While they are not used to playing football in March and the Homecoming game being on a Saturday instead of a Friday, many are grateful to finally be able to get out and play. Football season is something that has been highly anticipated all year, and it is finally here and in full swing. Everything looked good with Le Roy scoring the first touchdown of the game. However, a little bit later Ridgeview came in with a touchdown of their own. The game was 6-6 going into the 4th and last quarter. Panther fans were on the edge of their seats hoping for a Le Roy touchdown to pull through. To their excitement, Le Roy got a touchdown as well as a two-point conversion; bringing the final score to 14-6 with a win from the Panthers! The game is available to watch via Facebook live, filmed by a few students a part of Sports Marketing; Emmy Tarr, Nate McKnight, and Lily Monigold: www.facebook.com/LeRoyPantherAthletics/videos/275724597413219/?t=6 www.facebook.com/LeRoyPantherAthletics/videos/912056869549701/?t=9 www.facebook.com/LeRoyPantherAthletics/videos/4188047297880930/?t=9

Writer/Photographer - Lily Monigold Following the Freshmen vs. Sophomore Powder Puff game yesterday afternoon were the Juniors and Seniors to battle it out in their own game! The Juniors were coached by Coach Hageman, and Coach Zeleznik led the Seniors' team. The Seniors brought in the win with a score of 6-0. Although winning was a super big plus, many of the Seniors were just happy to be able to participate one last time in such a fun tradition. They were relieved that while COVID has taken many lasts from them, it couldn't take Powder Puff. Writer/Photographer - Lily Monigold On Friday, March 19th, the Freshmen and Sophomore girls got pumped up for the 2021 Homecoming Powder Puff game. There were many concerns that the game would not be able to happen outside. It was originally scheduled for Wednesday night, but got rescheduled for Friday during the school day due to the weather. While it still felt chilly outside for the spectators, it was perfect weather for the girls playing hard on the field. The Freshmen were excited to experience their very first Powder Puff game, and the Sophomores were ready to see what they could do after a hard loss to the current Juniors last year. The Freshmen were coached by Coach Roberts, and the Sophomores were co-coached by Coach Conn and Coach Owens. One touchdown was made during the game by Freshman Josey Ester. This brought the Freshmen to a victory in their very first Powder Puff game with a score of 6-0. However, the Sophomores are already getting ready to destroy next year's Seniors! Writer/Photographer - Lily Monigold Congratulations to all of the kind, hardworking Seniors who are apart of the 2021 Homecoming Court! This year's court was: - Emmy Tarr - Angelika Campbell - Morgan Shreves - Maren Graybeal - Abby Anderson - Logan Peterson - Nate Perry - Colin Griffin - Ty Egan - Kamrin Givens Homecoming King and Queen, just announced during the Pep Rally, are Abby Anderson and Kamrin Givens! The 2021 Homecoming Pep Rally was originally supposed to be held at the football field, but it was moved inside due to inclement weather. Students got to sit with their grades and enjoy watching their classmates that are in band and cheer. The band, led by Mrs. Wells, featured many amazing guitar and drum solos. The Cheerleaders, led by Mrs. Gaffney, had two main performances; one of them being the Fight Song. While the pep rally may have looked different this year, it got students riled up enough to even begin some class fights with their chants; all in good fun, of course. |
