The Tri-Valley - Le Roy cross country team had a meet on Tuesday, October 13 at Heyworth. The teams we were up against were Heyworth, Cornerstone, Fieldcrest, Olympia, and Peoria Heights. While this is more schools than most of the meets we have had this year, each school didn’t have very many people running on their team. Some of the teams also did not run their Varsity due to other meets coming up soon. The weather was in the 70s with a strong wind. However, during the race the wind wasn’t that bad. Heyworth’s course is three loops that is in the grass and goes through the woods. The woods helped to block the wind. The girls raced starting at 4:30. Natalie Garneau from Tri-Valley won first place with a time of 19.07. This was especially good for her because someone from Millikin University drove to watch her specifically race in hopes of recruiting her to their college team. Overall, this meet was a great race for the girls and a lot of PRs were set. Coach Albin was very pleased with the outcome; especially since the girls won. The boys race started at 5:00. They also had a good race for nearly all of the boys ran under 20 minutes. Olympia got first with 18 points, Downs got 42 points, and Fieldcrest got 72 points. The next meet is on Thursday, October 15. It is SVC Conference, so it is a big meet for us. The race will be at Detweiller Park in Peoria. This will be the last meet for JV. Also, seniors will be acknowledged at the end. The meet after that, Regionals on October 24, is also a huge meet for us. Sectionals, if we make it, is on October 31. Below is a link for the times from the meets we have had all season: https://www.athletic.net/CrossCountry/School.aspx?SchoolID=16306
