group of students put on a stunning show. The show “School House Rock Live!” is a musical set around a character named Tom, who is nervous about his first day of teaching. Throughout the musical, Tom is joined by many different characters to learn how to effectively teach his students while still having fun. With songs such as “Just A Bill,” “Interjections,” and “Do The Circulation,” the show is entertaining for both the performers and audience. Despite having a smaller stage space, the multiple background changes and props brought the whole show together. In the end, despite the wind blowing props across the stage, the musical was enjoyable for everyone. As most everyone knows, many of the Elementary and High School’s programs have seen many changes due to COVID. The chorus and band programs are no exception and have seen some of the more problematic changes. For one, both the band and chorus programs are no longer able to perform on the stage at the high school where a majority of performances are held. Secondly, actors cannot be as interactive as they once were because they must obey social distancing guidelines as much as possible. Now due to changes in location, they must battle weather conditions, which now limits their performance dates to when the weather permits it; however, they have handled these changes very well. While the chorus and band program will not be as consistent in performances as they once were, they still have many new plans and ideas to come. During the next few months, the High School chorus program is planning on performing new shows, and the Madrigals program is still supposed to run, so be on the lookout for updates about those programs!
